Who We Are
Treatment Area Liaisons attend cancer patients receiving treatment services in the third floor treatment area and waiting room. Volunteers provide emotional support to the patients and their families, friends, and/or companions who accompany patients during their appointment as well as providing comfort items.
What We Do
Volunteers:
- Offer drinks and snacks to patients and their companions
- Offer a sack lunch to patients over the lunchtime
- Attend to the comfort of the patient by offering warming blankets or adjusting the environment as able
- Assist the staff by notifying them of patient needs or requests
- Provide emotional and social support to those patients who wish to talk
