Pet Therapy - Strawberry Hill Campus

Who We Are

Pet Therapy volunteers are those who bring their certified pets to different Health System locations to bring joy and peace to our patients. We are partnered with the Kansas City chapters of Pets for Life and Pet Partners. Continued certification with either of these two organizations is required to be a volunteer. Pet therapy volunteers enjoy putting a smile on patients' faces with their loving pet.

If you are interested in becoming a pet therapy volunteer but are not certified with Pets for Life or Pet Partners, please visit the below links to learn more about the steps it takes to become certified:

What We Do

Pet therapy volunteers visit different locations within the Health System on assigned days for an hour either weekly or monthly, depending on volunteer availability. Currently, we have volunteers visit our Strawberry Hill campus (inpatient psychiatric services), Pediatric department (main hospital), our Inpatient Acute Rehab center (main campus), and Marillac campus (inpatient child and adolescent psychiatric services - Overland Park).
